Once you know where to make a booking for a municipal course, it's possible to play for around $20. That makes them popular with beginners but the courses are often crowded and it can take a long time to get through a round of golf. If you are learning to play, municipal courses provide a great opportunity to hone your skills without draining the bank account. However, as most golfers see their skills improving and they look for the optimal golf experience, their thoughts progress to the luxury courses with fewer players, faster round times, improved course layouts and premier facilities. Joining a country club is one way to gain access to a luxury golf course and it can be a lot of fun. Chances are that you'll be mixing on a regular basis with people who have similar interests. Most clubs will require you to pay a membership fee of some sort but not all country clubs are exclusive to only the very rich. If you enjoy your golf, have a serious commitment to playing the game and like the idea of playing a country club course, then why not check out the country clubs in the Tampa area. There may be a club with a membership package that is in your price range.
However, if you are only visiting Tampa, or the idea of a country club membership is not for you, there is another option. Some of the more popular golf areas such as central and south west Florida have luxury public courses managed by the local city or county government. These courses will usually charge a lot more to play a round then the municipal courses. However, you will only pay for the round you play, so you aren’t making any long-term commitments. However, as with all things, you get what you pay for. Because of the extra cost to play the luxury golf courses, there are less people playing so the hold-ups and waiting times are much less. There are other benefits such as having your own caddie who can certainly help you master the course and possibly help you with your technique. Because the wear and tear on the luxury courses is less, it's easier to keep the greens and fairways in top condition. Luxury courses also put back a significant part of their revenues to keep the course manicured and and in tip top condition. After you have finished your round, or while you are waiting to tee-off, you can spend time in the up-market clubhouse which all the luxury courses have. Bars, restaurants and lounge areas are all part and parcel of the modern golf clubhouse. As is the case throughout Florida, Tampa golf holiday packages are available to suit all tastes and budgets and are available all year round. During the period of May through October the courses are usually not crowded, so a leisurely round is possible. Many of the private courses are open to the public at that time. Several of the luxury Tampa golf courses are part of a resort complex and packages are available that combine several rounds of golf together with resort accommodation plus access to the resort facilities.
