Fort Lauderdale Beaches

Fort Lauderdale proudly proclaims it has one of the world's premier beachfronts with more than seven miles of sparkling beaches providing recreation, relaxation and enjoyment.

The well known South Beach promenade has been completely revitalized in recent times. The wavewall separates some of the best beach fronts in Fort Lauderdale from the busy A1A and numerous beachfront shops, restaurants and nightclubs.

Lauderdale-By-The-Sea is located across the Intracoastal Waterway at the north end of Fort Lauderdale and offers a laid back vacation style.

The beach is clean and quiet and fringed with small hotels. The natural Northern Beach Area offers beaches that are quiet and separated from active areas. The Birch State Park with its native terrain, nature hikes, canoe trips and picnicking is a feature of this beach area.

Hollywood Beach has a beautiful, clean, safe 2.5 mile-long beach and is a popular destination for family vacations. There are almost no high-rise buildings and most of the vacation accommodation consists of small, family-run motels and apartments.

The Hollywood Beach Broadwalk offers fun and entertainment for all. It offers a variety of activities such as cycling, rollerblading, kayaking, volleyball, windsurfing, jogging, jet skiing, and lots more.  It is a safe, child friendly attraction that meanders between a long strip of shops, restaurants and the  beach.

Dania Beach (6503 N. Ocean Drive, Dania) lies within the John U. Lloyd Beach State Park south of Fort Lauderdale.

The park consists of 250 acres of barrier island between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway, stretching from Port Everglades on the north to Dania on the south.

Free from the usual commercial development associated with popular ocean fronts, this great beach boasts an natural shoreline rimmed by Australian pine trees providing privacy and seclusion. The park is open daily from 8:00 am to dusk.

Holiday makers visiting Fort Lauderdale and the surrounding area will find a wide range of vacation accommodation to suit all budgets, ranging from resorts, hotels, apartments and bed and breakfast establishments.
